The economy of the emirate
of Dubai can be divided into oil and non-oil sectors. During the
last three decades Dubai has witnessed huge trade and industrial
growth rates.
Since the export of oil
began in 1969, the late Sheikh Rashid and subsequently his son, HH
Sheikh Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, have wisely deployed Dubai’s
oil revenues, into other sectors to provide a more diverse
economic base and to prevent total dependency on oil.
