After a busy month of March and the great success of the ‘ Burj
Dubai’ breakfast Conference , who let all of us speechless, we now
carry on with our activities and the pace does not slow down.
Breakfast Conference, with presentation of COFACE activities in the
Middle East is organised this month. Besides the reception of a
French delegation dealing with Coastal Management and led by Mission
Total Regional Development the FBC organises a ‘
Counterfeiting “ working dinner on the occasion of the visit to
Dubai of Mrs Christine Lagarde, French Minister Delegate for Foreign
Trade.
Finally, I take this opportunity to remind you our next prominent
event, the FBC Annual Gala Diner, on 17th May 2006 in the beautiful
settings of the Al Murroj Rotana Dubai. This Gala dinner is a unique
opportunity offered to companies to reward their clients, partners
and collaborators, by sharing with them a refined and elegant
“French Touch” evening. More information will follow very soon, but
please book this date in your diary now if you want to be part of
this prestigious event.
I wish you a pleasant April and remain at your disposal for any

Since its
creation, the Recruitment service has grown every year,
placing more and more French and French-speaking
candidates in companies already established in the UAE
or in the process of setting up locally.
A year ago, the FBC service became the Consular Section
of Employment, and gained further professionalism.
Targets have been exceeded with a total of 115 job
offers handled in the last calendar year, and more than
40 job seekers placed. The growing success of the
recruitment service reflects the confidence that FBC
members and non-members place in the recruitment
service, and looks promising for the future.
This month in our Employment Service: 31 job offers - 62 new applications
The
growing expectations of the companies as well as an
increased demand for the service, both from companies
and candidates, mean that the existing structure will
have to be reinforced in the near future, in order to
continue delivering professional consulting to your
company. Therefore, as of 1stApril 2006, the following
terms will be implemented, in order to sustain the
development of the recruitment service :
. Small
Companies (<5 people ): free of charge
. FBC
Members: AED 1000
(upon completion of the recruitment mission)
. Non-FBC
Members: AED 2000
(upon receipt of mission)
We thank
you for your understanding, and look forward to handling
your recruitment needs in the coming months!

the very challenging construction process of the World’s highest
Tower. The burj Dubai Tower , which is part of a very important

IMED The
French Business Council is pleased to welcome a new
“Business Development Officer” for the account of
IMED, a non-profit French organisation, but
business oriented.
Yann SIMON, 27
years old, MBA graduated, joined the FBC office last
month to promote French Know-how, across the United Arab
Emirates and the G.C.C. Countries.
With an actual “portfolio” of 4 companies, the objective
for him is to select local partners able to carry out,
extend spirit and products of those French companies
through the Middle East. “First step is to set up a
long-term relationship with a distributor located in
United Arab Emirates” he said. Thus, the next step will
be having different partnerships in the Gulf area.
