In Casablanca last month was held the annual seminar of Directors of French Chamber of Commerce abroad. Attended by 46 directors from different countries, this meeting was the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas about the development and cooperation of this network, monitored by the Union of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abroad (UCCIFE). UCCIFE is undergoing tremendous modernization in all fields of activities from communication to training, from promotion to research of new income sources.
The challenges are ambitious but the motivation is remarkable.

Dubai has embraced an astonishing development programme. In this growing market positioning and value added factors are determining assets for companies working with luxury goods, cosmetics and in retail in general. French companies are numerous in these industries and the FBC is offering to gather Members working in these sectors under a new Committee.
The main objectives of this committee are to establish an information exchange + networking forum exclusively devoted to professionals of this sector, to promote together the France brand, and to undertake common lobbying actions, if required.
The luxury Committee will meet for the first time, in an informal way, at the Vintage (near Carter’s), Wafi City on July 6th at 5:00 pm.

This committee was particularly active this month with three major events:
Meeting with the Ariane Committee to assess the small company’s specific recruitment needs
Employment seminar – This seminar offered the possibility to job seekers to meet representatives of recruitment companies and provided useful informations when applying for a job. (more info below)
Labour Law Seminar – Presented by Hélène Mathieu from Helene Mathieu Legal Consultants, this seminar provided the participants with the latest updates on the UAE labour regulations. (more info below)
