May is always a busy month at the French Business Council, and many
opportunities are offered to you, members and friends, to get
valuable information,i.e through the breakfast seminars and
the“regional outlook’ cycle of conferences on business opportunities
in the region, Oman this month, as well as from the meetings with
the FBC sectoral committees.
As always, we are committed to support French interests and to offer
an efficient backing. We prove it this month with the tasting of
French cheeses that we organise on behalf of French Producer ONETIK
at the get together on 9th May at the Cin Cin, Fairmont, and the
promotion of French SMEs at the FBC Gala Dinner on 17th May at the
Al Murooj Rotana Hotel, Dubai.
A Provencal touch will be added to this year’s event as the FBC, in
its role to encourage trade and exchanges between Dubai and the
Northern Emirates and France, has decided to help promote the
Provencal food producers represented by the liaison office for the
Provence region, IMED, in our premises. Their products will be
incorporated to the five course gourmet dinner that will be served
on the night.
This year’s dinner will gather a prestigious audience of over 350
people, as many of you have booked tables to entertain your
customers, friends and colleagues. Thank you !
It promises to be an exciting evening with fine food and great
entertainement, and I look forward to welcoming you and your guests
for a Taste of Provence.

in 1946, Coface has been the world standard bearer for export credit
insurance. Indeed the term ‘se faire Cofacé’ has even entered into
the French language. Yet since the early 1990’s Coface has undergone
a total metamorphose.
Today, a subsidiary of Natexis Banques Populaires (since
2002), rated AA by Fitch and Aa3 by Moody’s, the company boasts
sales of $1,66bn, with offices in 58 countries, with partner network
that expands global reach to 93 countries David Venediger, Senior Development Manager for the new
Africa Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean Department in Coface
presented on the 30th April an overview of Coface development over
the years and its strategy for developing its presence in the region,
as well as its local partnerships with Dubai Chamber of Commerce and
