ARIANE
Committee
To support
French Independent Enterprises in Dubai |
|
|
|
|
Several months ago,
FBC started a brain storming session on the necessity to get more
adapted to the new companies setting up in Dubai. It appeared that it
is now mainly small & medium size companies that come and try
their luck in the Emirates. Under the leadership of Christine Fay,
a small group of members has been working on a very practical document
that should help newcomers by guiding through the initial steps.
A name has also been
found for this group: the ARIANE Committee. This name, easily
pronounceable in both French and English refers to a world
famous European achievement. It is also linked to the set-up procedure
in Dubai and all associated formalities which require an Ariane clew,
fil d’Ariane, if you do not want to get lost in the administration
labyrinth.
The Ariane Committee
aims to be the French Independent Enterprises in Dubai Committee (FIED)
where any good wills are always welcomed.
We still look for
volunteers who would commit themselves to welcome and advise
newcomers. The following activities are still not represented: food
processing, luxury goods, tourism and finance. These volunteers,
regardless of the size of their companies, will be given a specific
logo in the FBC Directory.

FBC PROMOTION
Committee
Outstanding
achievement with 200 members |
|
|
|
|
The
number of FBC Members has reached the impressive milestone of 200
(as of 31 December 2003), representing a total of 159 companies in
Dubai and the Northern Emirates. This outstanding achievement reflects
our dynamism and ambition in the mission to promote business
relationships.
There is no doubt that this number also translates the greater
expectations from the Members.
Under the co-ordination of Laurent Marie, FBC has taken
concrete actions to better monitor Members wishes and needs. As a
result and for illustration, new committees by sector are being
formed to boost the networking among FBC Members.

of Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry led by HE Mr Obaid Al Tayer
and Mr. Ahmed Al Banna, local dignitaries and about 700 members of 20

Visit of French CCI
of Poitou Charentes |
|
|
|
A delegation of
Poitou Charentes, composed of members of both Vienne and Rochefort/Saintonge
Chambers of Commerce & Industry visited Dubai and Sharjah on 9 and
10th December. The last monthly Get Together was the occasion to
introduce them to FBC members. The delegation, which was part of a
larger group who had been on a mission to Qatar, was led by Mrs
Francoise Vilain, General Manager of CCI of Vienne, and founder of
FUTURALLIA business partnership network.
Mrs Vilain and
Futurallia President Dominique Lenoir presented the FUTURALLIA concept
and promoted the idea of extending it to Dubai. Members of the
delegation expressed strong interest for UAE market (noticeably Lippi
enclosures and Stone Design interior decoration). We trust that this
short visit will lead to future co-operation and events.
Promoting Dubai and
the Northern Emirates to French CCI is one the key actions in the
programme of the CCI DEVELOPMENT Committee, led by Emmanuel
Carpentier. In addition, a major project is being developed with
the CCI of Limoges, which should materialise within a few weeks.
