Once again this year, his Excellence Mr. Gouyette, French Ambassador in United Arab Emirates makes us the honor to address our members during our back to business luncheon on 4th October. This event, becoming a tradition, is the opportunity to welcome newcomers and old residents of Dubai and we are looking forward to seeing many of you.

This event is followed by another one of yearly importance, our Annual General Assembly, on 13th October 2004. The executive committee, together with involved members will present the actions undertaken this year and the challenges upcoming in the next period.
The French Business Council does not belong to the board, it belongs to the members. The duties of the executive committee are to enhance opportunities and contribute to the development of bilateral relationship between the United Arab Emirates and France. The sustainability of the organization is allowing today the change of gear to grow faster and higher for the benefit of all members. The set up of discussion and reflexion groups such as FBC Projects, FBC Brands and soon FBC Healthcare is opening the path towards a better targeted service.
At the time to submit our past actions before you we are looking forward to renew our commitment towards our business community and our members.

A French delegation of small companies visited the United Arab Emirates to study the local market and evaluate business opportunities.
The mission was organized by Total Regional Development, a special department of Total Fina Elf Group, dedicated to the promotion and support of small French businesses abroad.
These companies represented by their managers, are specialized in decoration and construction sectors and have been selected for their outstanding export potential.
They were Abu Dhabi where they benefited from a special welcome from Mr Puppi, Chief of the French Trade Commission in Abu Dhabi, and Mrs Sylvie Foss, Director of the French Business Group of Abu Dhabi. After a morning session of seminars concerning business specificities in UAE, each company carried on with its own agenda of meetings.
In Dubai, they met with the Consulate General of France, Mr. Robert Jongeryck, the Head of Economic Services for the Middle East, Mr. Jacques de Lajugie, the President of the French Business Council, Mr. Francois Dao and its Director Mrs France Crespin–van Duinen.
The first day started with a working breakfast concerning large projects in Dubai, presented by Mr. Bianconi from Eclipse Production, and the architectural specifities of the region by Mr. Tabe, architect. The same evening they gathered at the Grand Hyatt for an informal diner with the French Business Council members.
The next day they visited the Burj al Arab and followed the presentation of the Palm project.
