The international Business Company: Gateway to offshores markets’ How setting up an offshore company can help your business ?

Denis Acker, Barrister and Solicitor, from Acker Choquette Advocates & Legal Consultants presented FBC Members and friends the numerous valid reasons for any business person to carry out activities through an offshore entity (Thin capitalization, Taxation, Simplicity, Anonymity, Reporting, Asset Protection …) as well as the increasing choice of structures offered by offshore jurisdictions. The following are the most common: Company limited by shares,Company limited by guarantee, Hybrid Company limited by shares and guarantee, Protected cell companies.
Mr Acker went then trough an exhaustive presentation of 2 model status in the offshore services industry (British Virgin Islands & Seychelles), which by offering different kind of legal structures and distinctive characteristics are the most common used jurisdictions.
Mr Peter Michael Schuster, General Manager of RAK Offshore Division, ended this conference by presenting the RAK Offshore jurisdiction, one of the “youngest” jurisdictions in the UAE.
