Joint Business Lunch organized by the FBC

An audience of around 100 guests including members of the French, German, Italian, Swiss and Spanish Business Councils had the privilege to listen to a conference by Mrs Habiba Al Marashi, Chairperson EEG, Board Member UN Global Compact on Sunday 27^th January 2008, in the Ballroom of the Al Murooj Rotana Hotel & Suites- Dubai.

Mrs Al Marashi  presented the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG),a voluntary, non-governmental organization devoted to protecting the environment in the UAE through education, action programs and community involvement such as :

• Waste Management and Recycling Campaigns (cans, paper, plastic, glass, toner)

• Education Program (training and environmental education of selected sectors like students, teachers, v-volunteers, socio-civic groups, corporate sector…)

• Research on relevant environmental issues and concerns

• Publications (Waste Paper Magazine, Update Report)

• Community Lectures

• International Networking and Campaigns

• Corporate Social Responsibility Work

The EEG has also implemented  the EEG CSR Network, a Partnership Towards Sustainable Development and requires an mean an approach to business that embodies transparency and ethical behavior, respect for stakeholder groups and  commitment to add economic, social and environmental value.

This High profile networking event contributed to reinforce multicultural ties.
