2018-19RS048M - Trade Marketing Manager – MEA

This company whose regional head office in Dubai for Middle East, Africa and Indian Subcontinent, has identified the need for an enthusiastic, high calibre Trade Marketing Manager for one of their famous brand to devise effective marketing strategy, develop & execute innovative marketing plans, build the brand across the MEA region and develop new ideas based on contact with customers, prospects and the wider Power Tools industry. The successful candidate will be based in Dubai, reporting directly into the General Manager MEA.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Specifying market requirements and opportunities for current & future products by conducting market research supported by market and customer visits
  • Driving a solution set across development teams (primarily Product Development/ Engineering & Marketing Communications) through market requirements, product contact and positioning
  • Developing & implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute
  • Developing & implementing marketing campaigns and events across the region to generate Brand/Product awareness and to create market pull 
  • Monitoring & reporting market share, market developments and competitors’ activities 
  • Driving product margin accretion via optimizing product mix, positioning & pricing
  • Controlling marketing spend against budget
  • Serving as the internal & external “evangelist” for the Brand/Product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers
  • Working with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits and target customer

Competencies & Skills

  • Educated to degree level or similar (preferably Marketing)
  • Highly motivated & enthusiastic 
  • Possesses a unique blend of business & technical , with a “big-picture vision” and the ability & drive to transform that vision into reality
  • Strong interpersonal skills to liaise internally at various levels across many departments and externally with existing and prospective customers
  • Solid experience in Pricing and Product Management, preferably within the Power Tools industry and in the MEA region
  • Enjoys spending time in the market with Customers to elicit & understand their needs & challenges and to find innovative solutions for the broader market
  • High level of independence and initiative
  • Appreciation & understanding of cultural diversity 
  • Fluent in English with other European languages preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing  & distribution of Power Tools and/or Industrial products

Other Remarks

  • Travel within MEA and occasionally to Europe.
