2020-21RS011- Junior Category Manager

Our client, a famous local Company who is leader in his sector, is hiring its Category Manager, he/she will be based in Dubai and will be attached to the Marketing Department and will work directly with the Marketing Manager- category.

UAE, QATAR, OMAN, BAHRAIN, KUWAIT + Support to KSA subsidiary

Consumer Goods, Food Service, Shop in Shop, Retail

Achieve overall category performances vs budget (value, volume & margin)
Analyze performances to boost short term growth
Maintain innovation/renovation pipeline to secure mid to long term growth
Reinforce (or reach) leadership position by staying ahead of competition

Category segmentation & positioning
1/ Estimate market size & segmentation by sub-category & packaging
2/ Assess competitors portfolio & positioning by category & territory (product, packaging, price)
3/ Recommend most relevant & efficient positioning by category & territory

Category performance
1/ Monthly category KPI, analysis & recommendations (value, volume, margin and market share)
2/ Highlight top & low performances to trade marketing & sales teams (category, sub-category, product group, top 10, top 50%, top 80%, packaging, promotion, channel, territory, chain...)
3/ Compare Category performance with trade marketing reports to identify business opportunities (numerical & value distribution, linear share, share of gondola, share of leaflet...)

Channel animation
1/ Propose range & planogram per channel & sub-channel
2/ Build BTL plan with trade marketing team to reach sales target, maximize range awareness and recruit new shoppers/consumers (promo mechanics & sampling)
3/ Support trade marketing team in the development of store communication tools and POSM
4/ Inform communication team about BTL plan & product USP to maximize sales performance

Range Management & Innovation
1/ Lead category innovation, renovation & extension (market potential, brief, USP, retro plan, business plan, specifications, costing, packaging design, launch plan, activation tracker)
2/ Identify product, packaging & price opportunities with operation team
3/ Develop exit strategy for unsuccessful products (value/volume/margin)

1/ Verify consolidated category forecast vs budget & volume trends (regular & promo)
2/ Propose forecast for new product launch & range improvements
3/ Monitor sales vs forecast for new product launch & range improvements

Market Knowledge
1/ Perform monthly market visit to stay aware of competition activities, launch, packaging & POSM
2/ Stay updated on last industry trends & customer insights to drive category’s future (product trends, packaging trends, shopping habits...)
3/ Understand specific customer requirements and propose rapid & efficient solutions


Master Degree in Marketing
2-3 years proven experience
Category management experience within Consumer Goods and/or Food Service channels will be a strong advantage
English and French is a must, Arabic would be a plus
