The FBC is proud to partner with the 26th PIARC World Road Congress 2019

The five-day forum will focus on the headline theme of ‘Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies’. Thousands of the world’s foremost experts in road infrastructure, transport and technology will descend on Abu Dhabi this October for the first-ever World Road Congress (WRC) to be held in the Middle East.

Organized by the World Road Association (PIARC) and the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport (DoT), the major event is expected to attract thousands of delegates from over one hundred countries with at least thirty government ministers.

The 26th World Road Congress will be a five-day event discussing the over-arching theme of ‘Connecting Cultures, Enabling Economies’.

The World Road Congress 2019, held 6 -10 October at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, will offer a unique platform for the UAE to demonstrate its commitment to innovating in the surface transport, tunnels, bridges and infrastructure space.

Choosing Abu Dhabi to host this global event could not be more apt for a road congress as the UAE has been ranked 1st in the Quality of Roads Index, for the fourth consecutive year, in the World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness Reports.

The 26th International Road Conference will be an opportunity to demonstrate the development and sustainability of the UAE infrastructure and present and address different modes of transport and advancements in the sector, such as smart innovations.

The World Road Congress is the global industry’s signature event, bringing together road administrations, equipment and service providers, consultants and road-related organizations, as well as Ministers from across the world to present their views on key themes such as artificial intelligence, land use planning and the future transport network.

A record number of exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest transport, road and planning innovations during the Congress.

The World Road Congress will also offer the transport sector a unique opportunity to exchange best practices and showcase the latest developments related to road networks, transport systems and road traffic control.

It will also look into developing safety measures to address environmental and sustainability challenges as well as strengthening public-private sectors partnerships to support and develop the roads and transport infrastructure.

The packed programme will address a number of topics including innovative transport service models, future transport policy agendas, use of new technologies to enhance safety of the road networks, transport infrastructure investments, surface transport sustainability and resiliency, road, bridge and tunnel operations and incorporating smart mobility solutions.
