GAUSSIN MANUGISTIQUE won the Award “Most durable and Reliable” Leading category at the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport
GAUSSIN MANUGISTIQUE, a French Business Council member, won the Award “Most durable and Reliable” Leading category at the Dubai World Challenge for Self-Driving Transport hosted by Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
The Challenge is a multi-year international competition designed for industry leaders, start-ups, and academia tackling the transport challenges faced by global cities. The challenge is a catalyst to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make 25% of all trips in Dubai to be smart and driverless by 2030. First and last-mile connection strategies are the first use case addressed. The application, evaluation and challenge process started in 2018 and runs up until the Congress in October 2019.

Why did you compete for this Challenge ?
Our experience in autonomous driving started in the early 1990s and developed over the time in our various product lines (specifically for “Port” and “Logistics Center”). In order to meet people mobility needs of our existing customers and to complete our value proposition to the market, the “smart cities” product line has been created in 2018.
Competing for this Challenge was a natural choice for us to first test our autonomous bus in the extreme conditions of Dubai and secondly to demonstrate our know-how and expertise in electric and autonomous vehicles field.
- How Dubai is strategic for Gaussin ?
Our LMP® batteries that equip our vehicles have very unique technical characteristics, including the ability to withstand very high temperatures which makes them particularly relevant and attractive for the region.
In addition, our product lines ("Ports", "Airports", "Logistics Centers", "People Mobility") are aimed at markets with strong growth forecast in the Middle East region and especially in the UAE.
- Could you please let us about your company and activities ?
With an existence since 1880, more than 50.000 vehicles in operation manufactured, 53 patents filed, 2.500 customers around the globe and experience in autonomous vehicles for more than 25 years, GAUSSIN is leader of clean and smart technologies for wheeled handling systems for Ports, Airports, Logistic hubs, and Smart Cities.
- What’s next for Gaussin ?
Continue further our development with transforming the current discussions in the region into order and deliveries, deploy our plan to assemble and manufacture locally our batteries, hydrogen solutions, as well as our autonomous vehicles technologies to serve better the middle east market.
