Looking back, looking forward...
Dear Members, Partners, and Friends,
The French Business Council has had a hectic year! Starting things off in October 2018, with our Annual General Meeting, the election of our new Executive Board and the update of our Chamber's status to offer more flexibility in its governance, always striving to serve better our Members and business community.
Straight after the AGM, we participated to the second France-UAE Economic Forum in Paris, organized in collaboration with Dubai Chamber and MEDEFI, aiming to strengthen economic ties between the UAE and France and explore possibilities for expanding bilateral cooperation in the areas of smart cities, renewable energy and investment.
This forum was one of the major milestones of the year aiming to build bridges of collaboration between our countries. It was followed by two business forums with RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) and DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) to explore and work on smart cities, urban mobility, energy and sustainability. We also strengthened our relations with the Northern Emirates, starting with the first Sharjah-France Economic Forum in July 2019.
Last but not least, our Annual Gala Dinner 2019, held under the theme “Lumière, Lumières” in the iconic Dubai Opera, gathered around 1,000 guests from local, French and international business communities. It was also the occasion for the French Business Council to sign an agreement with COFREX aiming to mobilize French companies and local stakeholders around the Pavillon France during the 6 months of the Universal Exhibition but also upstream.
The last of our roundup will be in September and it’s one of our signature events: the Working Together Forum, which will allow small companies to meet MNCs in B2B meeting sessions.
The year is not over yet, as many other projects and events are in the pipe. We can't wait to see what will happen next, but in the meantime, a little rest is needed!
